Protecting our watersheds is something we need to do to protect our environment.

We can protect our watersheds in many ways. One way to protect our watersheds is by recycling car oil. We can also reduce impervious surfaces. Impervious means something that is not able to soak threw. Picking up your pet waste is another way to help our watershed. You could also help by building Buffers. A buffer are trees or plants along wetlands. A Watershed is a building block for nature. Building blocks help collect rain, stores water, releases water, and filters pollutants.

A watershed is an area of land where surface water drains down to a certain point. The certain point that the water drains down to can be a body of water such as streams, lakes, rivers, oceans, and seas. Watersheds can be in different shapes and sizes. â€‹It collects all water that is not evaporated. Examples of  watersheds can be your backyard, the park, the forest, and a field. Watersheds are very important to our environment. It gives us water that we use daily. We use it for drinking, farming, showering/bathing, and cooking. Without watersheds we would not have water which we need to survive.
