A watershed is an area of land where surface water drains down to a certain point. The certain point that the water drains down to can be a body of water such as streams, lakes, rivers, oceans, and seas. Watersheds can be in different shapes and sizes. ​It collects all water that is not evaporated. Examples of  watersheds can be your backyard, the park, the forest, and a field. Watersheds are very important to our environment. It gives us water that we use daily. We use it for drinking, farming, showering/bathing, and cooking. Without watersheds we would not have water which we need to survive.
